Jennifer Popp – 2021

Purdue University

Jennifer Popp earned a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from Western Illinois University, a master's degree in Human Performance from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse, and a doctorate degree in Education Administration from Ball State University.  She began her career at Anderson University, where she was a faculty member and assistant athletic trainer.  After 14 years at Anderson, she became the Program Director at Ball State University, where she developed a research line in emergency management and preparedness of athletic trainers, especially skill retention, in order to enhance professional preparation and improve patient outcomes.  In 2017, Jennifer began working at Purdue University, where she is a Clinical Professor and the Clinical Education Coordinator in the graduate Athletic Training Program.  She loves that her job allows her the opportunity to teach and mentor the future generation of athletic trainers.  Jennifer’s passion for teaching has resulted in numerous professional presentations delivered at the IATA, GLATA, and NATA Annual Meetings.  Jennifer has a long history of service to the athletic training profession, including GLATA Secretary (2018-2022), GLATA President-Elect (2022-Current), CAATE Peer Reviewer (2013-2021), IATA College/University Representative (2002-2013), IATA Quiz Bowl Committee (2007-2011), and the IATA Honors and Awards Committee Chair (2000-2001).
