Neal Hazen earned his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Ball State University, and a Master of Business Administration from Ball State University. He began his career working as a Physical Therapist in 1986 at Whitley County Memorial Hospital in Columbia City, IN. A year later he returned to Muncie to work in the Baxter Physical Therapy Center as a facility manager and liaison to the Ball State Athletic Training Facility. In 1996, Neal became the Head Athletic Trainer at Ball State, a role he currently still holds. Neal has served on a variety of committees in connection to Ball State, the Mid-American Conference, and NCAA. He has received a variety of awards in the past including Ball State University Athletic Training Program Outstanding Clinical Educator Award (2004), Cardinal Sports Medicine Society Ring of Honor Inductee (2006), NATA Service Award (2006) and IATA College and University Athletic Trainer of the Year (2010).
