The Communications Committee serves as the public relations authority for the IATA and coordinates all media relations to enhance the profession. Additionally, the Communications Committee is responsible for producing 6 issues annually of the IATA E-news and maintaining the website. The Development Committee oversees the financial planning and investments for the IATA, and in conjunction with the elected officers, oversees the annual budget. Professional Development | The professional development committee coordinates the education planning of the annual symposium and IATA online education. This committee supports Indiana’s licensed athletic trainers by helping them develop revenue strategies, offering resources to enhance their practice settings, and collaborating with other IATA committees to improve the delivery of athletic training services statewide. |
The Committee on Community and Connections works to strengthen public awareness and appreciation of the athletic training profession across Indiana. It develops and implements outreach strategies, coordinates statewide campaigns with the Communications Committee to highlight the value of athletic trainers in diverse settings, and organizes social and professional networking opportunities that connect members and build community throughout the state. |
The GLATA Representative serves as Indiana’s voice to the Great Lakes Athletic Trainers’ Association and District 4 Executive Committee. In this role, the representative ensures Indiana’s interests are represented regionally and nationally while also contributing as a member of the GLATA Elections, Finance, Honors and Awards, and Operations Committees. |
The Governmental Affairs Committee serves as the central hub for all governmental and legislative matters affecting athletic training in Indiana. It keeps the GLATA and NATA Governmental Affairs Committees informed of legislative concerns and pending actions, obtains and evaluates information on state legislation, and continuously monitors the current athletic training practice act. The committee works closely with the IATA lobbyist to advance the goals and interests of the IATA within the political process. Interested in getting involved?
